What should I do to access the internet?
Do I need a wireless adapter?
If you plan to use a broadband router wirelessly your computer will need to be wireless enabled. You will need a wireless adapter either inside your computer or attached to it. If you have a laptop, check with your laptop supplier to find out if you already have built in wireless capability.
What types of wireless adapters are there?
Laptop computers often have a built in wireless adapter. Intel Centrino laptops always have built in wireless. If your laptop does not have built in wireless then you will need to have a wireless adapter installed. You can have a USB wireless dongle or a PCMCIA wireless adapter added to your laptop.
Desktop computers very rarely come with built in wireless. If your desktop computer is not already wireless enabled, you can get a USB wireless dongle or an internal PCI wireless adapter installed.
