The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums in world, located right here in Hull. This award-winning visitor attraction is home to over 3,500 fish including spectacular sharks and rays; making it the perfect day out for the whole family.
It offers a unique blend of stunning marine life, fun interactive and audio-visual presentations which together tell the story of the world’s oceans.
Visitors can journey from the birth of the oceans into the future and travel from tropical lagoons to the icy waters of Antarctica. As you descend deeper, visitors will come face to face with hundreds of exotic species.
Visitors can also walk through one of the world’s deepest viewing tunnels, whilst sharks and incredible saw fish glide overhead. Finally, end your visit with a ride through our 10 metre tank in our famous glass lift.
The dramatic building which overlooks the Humber estuary was designed by Sir Terry Farrell and is only a few minutes’ walk from Hull Marina and the museums quarter. Part of the regeneration of Hull, The Deep has become an internationally recognised landmark and has even featured on a Royal Mail stamp.
The Deep also benefits from an on-site Learning Centre which provides a base for the delivery of educational workshops, presentations and hands-on activities for young people.
The Deep is operated as a charity dedicated to increasing enjoyment and understanding of the world’s oceans. It is open every day between 10am and 6pm (last entry is at 5pm), excluding 24thand 25th December.
