The Humberside Police Lifestyle project was created 22 years ago, and over this period has attracted in excess of 139,000 young people who have formed into teams and worked a staggering 2 ¼ million hours of their spare time to benefit others within their local communities.

The Lifestyle project is a fantastic way for local police and police community support officers to build effective relationships with young people and schools in a positive manner, with the overall aim of challenging participants to make a difference to their local communities during the summer holidays, therefore diverting young people from crime and nuisance.

The Lifestyle project relies upon sponsorship, which is sought from numerous sources including charitable trusts, statutory organisations and national and local businesses who fund the key elements of the project.  This year we are delighted to be working in partnership with Kingston Communications, who have become one of our challenge supporters, sponsoring a brand new ‘Cyber Challenge’ encouraging Lifestylers to raise awareness and educate other young people in internet and mobile telephone safety.

Kingston Communications were fundamental to the introduction of Lifestyle project in 1989, becoming our very first principal supporter of the project, seeing thousands of young people wearing Lifestyle Kingston Communications T-shirts and undertaking an amazing amount of community work.  Without this initial support, Lifestyle would not be the success it is today.

Lifestyle prides itself in offering young people the opportunity to learn and discover essential life skills, including team building and communications. The project also raises confidence and self esteem of participants who often achieve the unachievable though their Lifestyle projects.
