CAT.ZERO is a new not-for-profit organisation which delivers innovative youth development training in Hull & East Yorkshire.

CAT.ZERO has been established to help local young people in need of help, especially those not in employment, education or training, to make progress towards the world of work through challenging educational and personal development programmes which use sailing as a focal point.  The experience is motivational and designed to bring about attitudinal change.

The name of the organisation, Category Zero, or Cat. Zero, comes from a certificate which is issued to vessels that are coded to navigate global waters - there are no limits. Hence the aim of CAT.ZERO is to broaden the horizons of the young people who take part to demonstrate that they can take on the world and succeed.

By working in partnership with local organisations we can make a huge impact on improving the prospects of young people facing challenges in moving onto the world of work, training or further education.

CAT.ZERO engage with partners from the private and public sectors who can offer work placements and volunteers to help with recruitment, the introductory event, the delivery programme (including sailing) and mentoring. This is a key element of the programme which enables participants to meet people from an array of organisations, agencies and backgrounds. One such partnership is with KC, who provide staff mentors and work placements for the programme.

For more information on the Cat Zero programme please call 01482 333303 or email info@CatZero.org.

If you are aged 16-18, live in Hull and are not in work, school, college or training, then the Cat Zero programme could be for you, to find out more visit: www.catzero.org
