KC to launch faster broadband to the region

New packages provide more choice and even better value

KC is set to enhance its existing broadband packages and launch three new broadband packages to meet the needs of its customers.

Customers will be able to choose from six new high speed broadband packages providing a wider range of price and download allowances. KC will also be increasing its download allowances for existing packages at no extra charge.

Kevin Walsh, KC Chief Executive said: “Customers told us they want more: more download allowances and more choice to better suit their budget and internet needs. With the increase from three to six packages, and the increases in download allowances, we believe we can now offer a bigger and better range to our customers.

“The way in which we use the internet has changed dramatically over the years. We are downloading more music, watching more films, television programmes online and households often have more than one user on the internet at the same time. Recent research commissioned by Cisco* has indicated there will be a 400 per cent increase in online video traffic to 2012, and we want our packages to meet this need.”

The new packages, set to launch in March, will complement the current Karoo Lite, Mid and Pro options. Download usage allowances for the current packages will increase at no additional cost to the customer.

The improvements and additions to the existing range will look like this:

Package

Monthly usage allowance

Karoo Lite

From 2GB to 5GB

Karoo Mid 1

From 10GB to 20GB

NEW Karoo Mid 2

30GB

NEW Karoo Mid 3

50GB

Karoo Pro 1

From 75GB to 100GB plus unlimited overnight usage

NEW Karoo Pro 2

KC’s continued investment in its network means it is now able to provide 98 per cent of customers with access to next generation ADSL2+ broadband services, achieving speeds of up to 24Mbps**.

The new packages not only provide a wider choice for existing ADSL 2+ customers, but will also give customers on older packages the opportunity to upgrade to higher speed services.

Kevin continued: “We want all of our customers to benefit from the much faster speed that ADSL2+ broadband can offer.  With more choice and higher download allowances there has never been a better time to make the change.”

Registration for the new packages will be available from Monday 22 February. Customers can pre-register their interest by visiting: www.karoo.co.uk/upgrade.
