KC's Nick Thompson
KC's Karoo broadband service has won the Best Customer Service category of the 2011 Internet Service Provider’s Association (ISPA) awards.
ISPA is the UK industry body for broadband and its awards programme is highly regarded.
The Best Customer Service Award recognises providers for outstanding customer service and in winning it Karoo pipped national broadband providers O2, BE Broadband and Plusnet to the post.
The judges liked the fact that calls to Karoo’s technical support service are free of charge and were also impressed with Karoo’s local MyTech centre in Carr Lane. The Mytech team offers customers a‘walk in’ surgery for PC repairs and troubleshooting and carries out free testing of PCs and routers to spot issues affecting broadband performance.
Nick Thompson, KC’s Director of Consumer Services said: “We pride ourselves on going beyond just the provision of fast, reliable broadband by combining it with lots of extra benefits like free local technical support, advice on getting the best from your broadband connection and online safety advice.
“Winning this award is a reflection how we look after our customers and recognition that we’re leading the way in broadband customer service.”
KC was also shortlisted in the Best Consumer Fixed Broadband category and the Best Business Fixed Broadband category. Providers are shortlisted following three months’ independent testing of real customer connections.
