Local people are being urged to get their winter woollies on as Driffield’s first ever free ice rink comes to town this weekend.
Organised by KC, the ice rink will be in the Tesco car park in Driffield from 9am until 4pm this Sunday 19 December.
The ice rink was originally due to be part of the Driffield Farmers’ and Craft Market at the beginning of the month but the difficult weather conditions led to the market’s cancellation.
Now KC has found an alternative location and is urging local people to come along and enjoy a Christmas experience that can usually only be enjoyed in the UK’s larger cities.
Nick Thompson, KC’s Director of Consumer Services said: “We’re delighted the ice rink’s able to go ahead, albeit a little later than we’d hoped and in a different location.
“The ice rink will be completely free of charge and skates will be provided so that people of all ages can enjoy it.
“It’s a great opportunity for families to have a day out and for the community to come together in the run-up to Christmas.”
KC is proud to be part of the local community and in recent months has launched a number of initiatives in Driffield. These include donating £10 to the KC Driffield Community Fund for every new customer who switches to KC from their current phone or broadband provider between now and the end of March 2011, with funds used to support local projects and organisations that matter to Driffield residents.
KC’s fastest ever broadband is available to people living in Driffield, allowing residents to enjoy speeds up to 24 Mbps; up to three times faster than other providers.
