Any questions? New text service from KC has the answers
Local people can text their questions to KC's Text Amy service
What was George Michael’s first solo hit? How many calories in a Big Mac? Who was the voice of Princess Fiona in the Shrek movies? What are the opening hours of the B&Q store in Hull?
Local people can now get fast answers to these and any other questions they want to ask through Text Amy, a new service launched by KC.
You can send a text to Amy on 118288 if you want to settle an argument, get the latest football scores, dispute a quiz question or just get a fast answer to a question without having to trawl through a list of Google search results.
In less than 10 minutes – and often faster – Amy will reply with the answer to your query.
Steve Allbones, General Manager of Publishing Services for KC, believes the popularity of texting and the desire of people to get fast answers to their questions will make the service a success.
He said: “We’re all used to using text messaging to stay in touch with friends and family, and the Text Amy service combines the immediacy and convenience of texting with a search-engine style question and answer service that saves people the trouble of having to trawl the internet for an answer themselves.
“So next time you need a fast answer, don’t Google it or phone a friend – text Amy instead.”
Texts to the service cost £1 plus the mobile network’s standard charge for a text message.
